Grand Buc' is set amongst the beautiful and historic rolling countryside of France. It is situated 3km from the nearest town of Lauzun, approximately 7km from the market town of Castillonnes and 10km from the charming bastide town of Eymet. It is 25 minutes south of Bergerac which is on the dordogne river.
Nearby is the international 'chateau des vigiers' golf course, just half an hours drive away. Other nearby activities include canoeing, horse riding, fishing and go-karting, along with a wealth of medieval market towns, chateaux and vineyards all of which deserve a visit.
There are numerous beautiful bastide towns within half an hour's drive away which are always worth a visit, if just to wonder around. All of these towns have a market once a week, selling anything from fresh produce to clothes. A number of them also have a weekly night market in the summer months. These are well worth a visit, and joining in with the hussle and bussle of the locals is always entertaining!
For the more active there are golf courses nearby as mentioned above, along with tennis and cannoeing. There is also an excellent riding stables 10 minutes walk away, which caters for all ablities with very well-behaved horses of all shapes and sizes! The area also offers donkey cart rides and go-karting - children will not get bored! And for the adults, there are numerous places to carry out the obligatory wine tasting!
The most popular route to the house is to drive from any of the channel ports and use the network of roads down to the south west of France. Flying is easy, Bergerac airport serves daily flights to and from London Stansted, East Midlands, Liverpool, Southampton, Leeds Bradford, Exeter, Birmingham and Bristol airport. Bordeaux airport is approximately one and a half hours by car.
